  • MyMedicare

    MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration model. It aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner (GP) and primary care teams. Evidence shows that seeing the same GP and healthcare team regularly leads to better health outcomes. Seeing your GP regularly and formalising the relationship you have with your GP and general practice through MyMedicare may lead to better health outcomes. Registering with MyMedicare provides benefits to patients, general practices, and healthcare providers. MyMedicare patients will have access to: greater continuity of care with your registered practice, improving health outcomes longer Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS) funded telehealth consultations with your GP triple bulk billing incentive for longer MBS telehealth consultations for children under 16, pensioners, and concession card holders, from 1 November 2023 more regular visits from your GP and better care planning for people living in a residential aged care home, from August 2024 connections to more appropriate care in general practice for people who visit hospital frequently, from mid-2024. If you choose not to register in MyMedicare, you’ll still be able to access the same quality of care from your healthcare providers. You can register for MyMedicare from 1 October 2023 and select your preferred GP at your: accredited general practice Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service Aboriginal Medicare Service nurse practitioner-led practice with a GP other non-traditional practice (who meets the healthcare provider registration and eligibility criteria.   • Personal Health Information Policy

    Your details, medical records & consultations within this practice are kept strictly confidential. Your information is only to be accessed by authorized staff and will not be released without your written consent. Only de-identified data be used for research purposes. During the Accreditation process, medical records are randomly selected for quality assurance purposes. Please inform your Doctor if you do not want your records accessed.

  • Consultation

    Consultations only by appointment. Call us on 08 8255 2133 to make an appointment. Appointments are held aside for urgent consultations and sick children. We are always happy to accommodate walk-ins where possible.

  • Email Policy

    We do not accept any email. Please do not communicate by emails as this is not a secure way to communication.

Home Visits

Home visits are available for regular patients whose medical condition prevents them from attending the surgery. As this does take longer please let us know as soon as possible.

Reminders/Recalls

This practice has a reminder system for preventative activities such as Pap Smears, Cholesterol checks, Mammograms, Flu vaccinations, Annual diabetes reviews etc. This means that you may be sent a reminder for a check up. Please let staff know if you do NOT wish to be on the reminder system.

Referrals/Sick Certificates & Prescriptions

For your safety and for medico legal reasons you will need to see a doctor for all of the above.

If you do not understand what is said or do not fully understand the nature of your problem, please ask. We believe it is essential that you understand your problem and how Doctors can promote your recovery and well being.

Test Results

It is your responsibility to contact the surgery for test results.

Most results are back within 5 working days.

Fees

Elizabeth Grove Surgery has mixed billing payment. That means all consultations & procedures will incur a private fee. This includes a gap, out of pocket, payment on top of any Medicare rebates. Patients will be asked to pay the full Medicare amount plus the gap on the day of your appointment after the payment is processed, the Medicare amount will be transferred back into your bank account. Please bring your saving or cheque EFTPOS bank card so we can reimburse your Medicare fee on the day. Medicare rebates CANNOT be paid back to credit card accounts. If you do not hold a current Medicare card, you are required to pay the full amount of the consultation on the day. If you have private health, we can provide you with a copy of your invoice for reimbursement from your insurer.

Bulk-billing are only available for children under 16 years old.

Concession card holders and over 65 year old - Please note that not all services are automatically bulk billed and will depend on the consultation type and is at the doctors discretion.

More complicated minor surgery will incur a higher fee which will be explained by your GP/Nurse prior to the procedure.

There will be a minimum $80 fee (Can be higher depending on the procedure) for each of these procedures: Punch Biopsy, Skin excision, Implanon insertion or removal, foreign body removal, Wound dressing, Ear syringing and 24hr BP Holter. Cancellations Please call us if you cannot attend your appointment. Please understand that we assign highly trained nurses and doctors for these appointments, and there are many other patients who would appreciate this time. With appropriate notice, we can give your appointment to someone else. Fees for unattended appointments will be charged. There would be $80.00 fee for all the appointments not cancelled within 8 hours of the scheduled appointment time.
